Never believe everything a team tells you, Mclaren said last year they had the best or equal to best chassis on the grid didn't they ?

Mclaren "best chassis " was a rhetorical statement borne out of frustration rather than something that should be taken literally what they actually said is that they had a good car let down by a suppar engine, the same can be said about Ron Dennis at the start of 1st season with Honda he said we got a mountain to climb but people selective quote him for the part about pierce of jewelry and the competitiveness of the Engine being unquestionably. The long and short of it depends on what your agenda is and what you want to see. Rbr unlike Mclaren actually build great car Honda pu has been proven to be sound in engine tracks like monza spa and Japan

Did I miss something? Can someone please provide me with quotes telling that RBR has recouped the downforce loss?

Marko doesn't design the cars and often spouts lots of pointless soundbits worse than what Horner comes out with

The thread is about speculation , rumours so what Horner and Marko is relevant in this context, I quess the idea of Honda fighting for championship tip over certain individuals but the bottom line is you can't stop what's coming .

Its about what members here think (speculation), even then it should have some glimmer of technical or historical relevance. the thread is not about what useless members of the paddock make up as they go along.

The front wing change might be more or less useless in regards of overall downforce since engineers are intelligent enough to come up with clever solutions. But it can have a positive effect on following cars easier due to the loss of outwash - which was the primary purpose of the change, wasn’t it?

Why is everyone lying about Honda reliability, they had 2 problems with Gasly in first race meh (Aus) and last race Abu Dhabi all a result of hitting the kerb had . For bit of perspective Hulknberg has used 5 engines...
For a bit more perspective, RIC and HUL used 5 ICE and 6 TC, GAS and HAR used 8 of each

But Hartley's car was given a free program to change and update as required in preparation for next season, most changes were for improvement, or so we were told. The Renaults were in the race for this year, and starting further up the grid, so a 10 place penalty was 10 places, not 3 like STR

Sure, but to gloss over Honda's enormous amount of PU item upgrades is folly. They had problems, as did Renault. Best to just acknowledge them and move on.

I predict that RBR will win more races next year than this, but will not be in the fight for either championship while they get to know the Honda PU fully. I do think they will still suffer some reliability gremlins, if only because they'll be asking the maximum they can of the PU right from the off. I expect them to challenge for the titles in 2020 though.

Turned down the chance to meet Vettel at Silverstone in 2007. He was a test driver at the time and I didn't think it was worth queuing!! 🤦🏻‍♂️

So Toto and Maurizio could be sitting in their office reading Marko say "Red Bull have managed to recoup all of the downforce lost as a result of the new front wing" and they are thinking, wow, Red Bull only just got to that point ?! We were there 3 months ago
Just because Ferrari/Merc haven't said anything, doesn't mean they haven't done it.
