Such a dangerous game Formula 1 is playing with the health and Security of its teams, News Partners, and people of Melbourne and everyone around the world who have already flown to Melbourne to see the AUSGP. I thought these days were over when Bernie was bought out. How ugly Human Greed and Capitalism truly is.

It’s all about the money (a lot of it), as i said before.
Not for nothing, Rosberg's Championship is the only thing that lends credibility to Hamilton's recent success. Otherwise, he'd just be the guy who's had the best car. — bhall II

Of course there will be a race.

The FIA won't get involved, that's been Jean Todt's motto for 11 years.

Liberty won't cancel because "the show must go on".

So do I set an alarm for 2am now or not??
Probably not! No need to wake up just to see the cancellation announcement...

I hope you're right and that I'm watching FP1 in 4 hours!

Again...it's midnight in Australia! Probably no one is awake to have an official announcement...also they said they'll have a meeting early in the morning to decide if it goes ahead! So in about 2-3 hours we'll have the official announcement!
What? it is 7:21 am at Melbourne
Ah yes now it is early morning of course!

I meant it was midnight in Australia all these hours before and that's why we didn't get an official announcement in the past 5-6 hours in my opinion!

well tbf there isn't anything they can say until they've had this meeting and decided. and it must be quite complicated, all the different factors to take into account

Just had a comment from aus gp association (group that organised and runs the aus gp here). That it’s full steam ahead. Full running for the three days planned.
Reported by channel 9 news live from the track.

I think that this turned into a "you go ahead" situation between the chairman of the AusGp and Liberty Media/Fia for some legal technicality.

It seems that way. Australian Grand Prix Corporation have so far made no announcement of the Formula One running being cancelled. Other track activities have already started, such as the 7.30am Minardi V10 two-seater run.

It's currently 8:20 am AEDT (Australian Eastern Daylight savings Time) BTW.

Indeed, Australian Grand Prix Corporation have posted these announcements:
The cars of Lewis Hamilton, Daniel Ricciardo and Sebastian Vettel will hit the track for the first time at the Formula 1® Rolex Australian Grand Prix 2020 on Friday.

The Formula 1® season will officially begin as the world’s best drivers take part in two practice sessions to familiarise themselves with the iconic Albert Park Grand Prix Circuit.

The AGPC is currently in discussions with Formula 1®, the FIA and the Department of Health and Human Services in relation to the broader implications of this test result.

The AGPC will provide updates as further details become available.
