The fact that every racing driver, Max’s own boss, can’t even defend him, but some forum posters can… it’s borderline cultish or people are just doing it for the spamming.

Lewis himself called it a racing incident. Maybe he knows something you don't. 😉

Because Lewis doesn’t want to get into it with the cult of Max. He probably just wants to move on as does anyone here who isn’t the same 4 --- posters

Here's Horner agreeing with Ted that Max was never making that corner and believes it was a racing incident like Lewis said. Lets see if the stewards agree

Ted - he was never going to make that corner was he?

Horner - yea... lets see

if Horner didnt agree with it or thought it was lewis' fault he would have said so, also the fact that he's looking for it to just be a racing incident says a lot

Or he knows he can scoring an easy political win because literally no one else but Verstappen will deny the reality of what happened.

That's because it's not a line. It's a goddamn curve
That's irrelevant. You still can't do it. You have to respect other cars on the track (and that goes both ways, Max didn't respect Lewis there either).

Lewis had picked the outside line. With Max coming on the inside, Lewis should have done a switchback instead, letting Max go deep. You can't just move into the inside line with a car coming there, especially not when moving under braking. Lewis had picked his line, and he didn't stick to it. He had every opportunity to take that corner in a different way.

Did Lando sent a dive bomb in Austria? Didn't he manage to take the car out safely when Max moved under braking? If Max would have been in control of the car, he would have saved it
No, but that's not relevant. You're not allowed to do what both Hamilton (and Max, in Austria) did whether the other driver divebombs or not.

In this case, Max can actually argue that the fact that he had to take evasive action was what caused the lockup. I'm not saying i agree - i think he would have locked up anyway - but you can't ignore that Hamilton did it.
By your own admission max pulled the same move in Austria and it went unpunished, that means the stewards have now set a precedent. Ironically it’s come back to bite max in the ass today.

The reality of what happened is that Lewis moved under braking and cut across the track. This is absolutely undeniable, and the analysis has already been done by people in this thread to prove it. The only people denying reality here are those that argue that this doesn't matter - it absolutely does.

Does it mean Lewis is predominantly to blame? No.

Does it mean Verstappen should escape penalty? Hard to say. Maybe. Maybe not. But he definitely isn't 100% to blame for this incident.

Does it mean Verstappen didn't act childish on the radio today? No. It's obvious even GP was fed up with him - but that has no relation to the incident.

Hamilton moved under braking. His normal turn in point for T1 was after the 50 meter board. This can be seen on many laps before and after the incident. You can make out the 50 meter board on the grass to the left if you are quick.

On lap 63 he starts turning in where the curb striping starts (80 meters) in reaction to Verstappen, and in the brake zone. It isn't trail braking. It's moving under braking. Verstappen locked up because he had to tighten his line. Many seem to have forgotten Austria.

Although I think the incident was primarily with Max, I am not sure Horner and Max are on the same side at the moment.

Incorrect. The FIA said after Austria that Verstappen should have been sanctioned in Austria (not necessarily a penalty, but a black and white flag also counts as a sanction). As such, Austria does not count as a precedent, because the FIA has specified that the rules were applied incorrectly.

This does not change what happened in Austria (they don't give out sanctions retroactively). But it does discount its use as a precedent.

For me, Max was the most exciting driver to watch today. Pushing, cursing, divebombing. I welcome the old Max back to F1. McLaren have the best car, but its like they do not know how to operate a team. Decent pace from Leclerc. Still think Ferrari pitted him too early for the last stint. He may have had a chance to get Hamilton at the end with 5-6 laps of newer tyres.

Both Hamilton and Verstappen are being investigated by the race stewards. . Lets see how they handle this, Something needs to be done or else the next races will be Nascar style.

Only Max is being investigated. Hamilton is summoned to give his version of event, but the summon is for Max allegedly breaking the sporting code - so Hamilton is not under threat of losing his podium here.
