I'm pretty sure I saw this incident on TV, but not from the onboard camera. From this perspective it's truly amazing!

Like Kimi in 2008, but this one ended well.
Thank you really doesn't really describe enough what I feel. - Vettel

Note where the braking zones begin and end. It is not difficult at all. From the Moment Danny stuck his wing beside raikkonen's wheel in the braking zone and Raikkonen turned in I know it was Raikkonen's fault. You can't close the door on a guy in the braking zone. That's just crazy. You either have to do it before the braking zone or after it when his car is not in the hands of the Gods. On the other hand though if Daniel shoved it up the inside and lost control while kimi is on the line after the braking zone (towards the apex)... that is a different case all together.
Great post PZ, nailed it.

I disagree - Kimi took the racing line as he was in front. DR tried to outbrake him to get beside him but didn't succeed.

Kimi wasn't in front so as to take the line, he HAD to give a cars width and was closing the door.

Yeah that corner is very tight and doesnt offer a great deal of space to be honest.

I can easily see why Kimi would turn in, thinking Ricciardo wasn't far enough along side.

No good save at all, he's lucky not to have hit Ericsson there. There was way to much speed there. If Ericsson braked just a tiny fraction more there would have been mayhem and Sainz would have been critisied to a pulp. That was a 'got away with murder' right there [not literally offcourse].

Compare Kimi's line to the Red Bull in front of him and the Williams behind - Kimi turns earlier to close off the overtake, but it's too late. Normal racing line enters from wider as evidenced by the other cars seen in that gif.

Exactly, Kimi is at least a full car width to the right (drivers) of the normal racing line.

How was rosberg unable to pull away from vettel troughout entire race, only to disappear after the SC?

Vettel was probably more focused on keeping Hamilton behind rather then challenging Rosberg.

he can legitimately block or take defensive line, just like grosjeon did to max, it is the responsibility of the driver behind to not hit the driver in front.
Kimi did give a car's width and was turning into the corner

Already replied in the other thread, but as I said luck played his role, as Sainz played his too.

Merhi and Perez did same mistake, and they both crashed, Hamilton and Sainz otoh managed to save it.

And yes, obviously there was way too much speed difference betwen the two, that´s the reason it was scary. When yo lose stability while braking you need to releaste the brakes to stabilize the car again, so you can´t reduce speed as the driver in front of you did. That´s the reason it was scary, but luckily he managed to keep the car under control what made posible for him to avoid Ericson, othewise we´d have seen a very ugly crash....

Imagine Perez crash, but with his car crashing with another car 20m before the barriers (so he´d have gone even faster)... scary. Luckily Sainz recovered control of the car and dodged Ericson
