In the case folder, with the same name of the folder (I rely on my memory...)

there is no file with the same name as the folder. I can't find any openable file in the folder, although it seems the analysis went quite far before failing, as there are many files regarding aerodynamic forces and meshes etc

Yes, the first run and the mesh mapping have been done. Theoretically you could launch simplefoam by console, but singlethreaded (my advice is to wait for Julien's solution).

ah yes I've found it, although at the moment I have occfd running and it is computing. so I will post back if there is an error and i'll post the end of the log

if you have it working could you list each application and version you have installed, machine spec and OS that you are running.

might help us who are struggling to get it working.

also, with machine specs, it might be an idea to include how long a test takes to run local of very stable??

I have it all installed and will give a list of versions when I can but I experience diversion in the local run and currently, a very stable has been running for about 30 hours.

Well, the only release that is working is the old one (1.0, with OpenFoam 2.1), but it not inlcudes the updated cooling simulation.

At the moment I can complete a simulation with OCCFD 1.1 + OpenFoam 2.3 only using console commands, resuming the analysis after a parallelization error (but I still can't have the cooling data automaticlly processed, maybe I will find a way to view them in paraview).

Anyway: it is frustrating considering that the first race is so near, but we should consider that Julien is doing an heavy job alone and that the first race will give no points.

About the hardware: with a Win64 + i7 (three years old, 4 logical cores after switching off hyperthreading option) + 16gb dedicated to openfoam (I use it for work, so I need to save some ram) takes about 6h to complete the simulation with 6x10^6 cells (about 8h when the number of cells is around 10x10^6).

I launch the "simpleFoam.exe" solver into the case folder: be careful, it is a single thread solution and it requires much more time (4x on my workstation). After that you can process the results with Paraview. NOTE: you need to have completed the mesh (including mesh mapping) of the second part of the simulation. I tryed it only because I'm studying OpenFOAM (that is my primary target taking part to KVRC), but honestly it would be better to wait for an official solution.

Thank you! Are ready for the first race?

I think so.... my Class B "Bodykit" is ready; I haven't done any CFD testing myself, so the test race will be the first time I get to see how it performs; My plan is to enter a medium downforce configuration so that I can set a base-line: i.e. I'm not even attempting to achieve a really fast time (which would require a high-downforce set-up) I just want to understand what the balance is like, what sort of efficiency it has and most of all: how good is the cooling flow: I'm expecting this to be a real difficult part to get right and will almost certainly be way off optimised for the first run....

I must say I really like the introductory "Class B" format: Chris' base car (the "Savage LMP01" as I like to call it!) looks good, has just the right amount of standard parts, and you can knock up a reasonably good looking bodykit in a few hours; i.e. its not too late for people to enter right now....

I have looked at using the intro class to get a car in the comp this year because of health and hospital getting in the way but the design confused me. I couldn't figure out what was going on with the sidepod, it has a massive step in it (I assume at the max possible floor height in that region) but it makes working with a flat floor in that area a bit awkward. Also, what is with the boxed section behind the sidepod near the rear wheel? Is this just to create a solid and the flat section at the back of the cockpit is the outlet?
