Red Bull RB18

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Any news on the updates they are bringing?
A container arrived in the morning. Could be body work. Rumors were no upgrades before tomorrow.

From AMuS:
Adrian Newey tells us that the Red Bull upgrades won't come until Friday and Saturday. "You will see them with the naked eye." The Red Bull of today is more or less state of Barcelona.
They're taking a risk here... should their updates not work as intended tmmrw they will have very little time to address it before Bahrain

Or they aren't very big upgrades.

They just showed a close-up of the flow viz area. I heard the floor was changed but I don't see any differences on it yet.

Certainly starting to wonder what new parts they have planned and if they are of any real significance with mostly the same car running so far.

No doubt we will see something just surprised considering Newey said they would be viable we've seen nothing yet.

Since the in season testing ban, teams have been gotten used to integrating new parts during a race weekend, this is no different.

Car looks pretty mediocre to me. Needs soft tires to deliver front-end grip, then it's okey.
On hards and mediums it's all over the place. Lots of tuning to do. But I guess thats okey there is still time.

Interesting. I actually get the total opposite impression. The car to me actually looks very docile and controllable. Whereas a lot of the others they look quite skittish and on the limit especially on corner exits.

But it remains to be seen under quali/race conditions I guess!

Is there a little wing inside the exhaust pipe?

Ride height. By lengthening and shortening the pull rod, you can raise and lower the car. By placing the adjustment mechanism in the middle of the pull-rod, it allows quicker access.
