The conviction of the 'Kaiser'
We never call Michael the Kaiser, that title is reserved for Franz Beckenbauer in Germany.
yes, I noticed that one of the Spanish site that follows the testing on-line calls him "Kaiser"???? Never heard anyone calling him with that name before. People tend to forget, but his only nicknames is "The Chicken"
Ok, got it. The Spanish page is using "Kaiser" already in the original text. So it isn't a translation issue. It was probably added to stipulate those journos have intimate knowledge of Schumacher reception in Germany. But as I said, nobody calls Schumi Kaiser here. It is usually Kaiser Franz who is extremely popular. He won soccer world titles as player and coach and organized the last championship hosted by Germany. Germans on average are much more crazy for soccer than for F1.
In the tradition of Rudolf Caracciola some people call him Regenmeister after memorable wet races most notably in Spain 96, Belgium 92 and Monaco 97.
Vettel was continuing that tradition with his 2008 Monza weekend.

Formula One's fundamental ethos is about success coming to those with the most ingenious engineering and best ..............................organization, not to those with the biggest budget. (Dave Richards)

On Wednesday morning Felipe Massa took Ferrari's latest chassis, the F10 with chassis number 282, on track. The car has a number of minor aerodynamic and mechanical updates compared to last week's F10 with chassis number 281.

That is a strange reference. Schumacher hails from Kerpen which is roughly forming a triangle with Spa and Nürburgring. So obviously that is some 700 km from Bavarian heart land.
