We will be lucky if we get any racing at all with this forecast. Third year in a row where the Canadian GP s disrupted by bad weather. They should start thinking about moving it to a different date in the calendar.

Good early signs. Piastri happy with grip at his first run, and Norris P1. So far, so good.
To do something well is so worthwhile that to die trying to do it better cannot be foolhardy. It would be a waste of life to do nothing with one's ability, for I feel that life is measured in achievement, not in years alone. ― Bruce McLaren

Yep. FP2 looks like it could be the dryest session. The weekend is looking pretty bad but part of the problem is the track has some awful drainage. There was a swimming pool on the exit of turn 5. Once the standing water went the track dried pretty well though.

If FP1 ever had any semblance of meaning in terms of competitiveness, the rain will have washed that away today :D

I am surprised he made such a statement. Don't think its wise signaling things to rivals, both for good and for bad.
Yeah, and he isn't the sort of run-off-at-the-mouth guy like Horner or Wolf. I think he has decided that openness in many of these areas doesn't really allow the competition any advantage. After all, it's one thing to hear X has achieved more than their simulations predicted, and another thing to be able to deduce what they did to achieve the same and what direction they are going. It's an incredibly exciting time to be with McLaren (or Ferrari) but I suspect the orange ship is sailing a little more steadily and safely than the red one. A new driver lineup with a former champion having to blend with a fast and ambitious teammate who's established is just one challenge they will have. I think it will be a lot nigglier than the present pair. Our guys seem to have good manners, I know, you put the sniff of wins and championships on the menu and that can all change.

Ît's PAPAYA not Oorange!!!
If our fans don't make that diference how can we expect our rivals to do so.
The papaya colours is our identity and must not be confused with other colours!!!
Actually….. just cut the tab out of my new Mclaren shirt…. It says it’s Autumn glory….

They missed the right window with the track condition so I guess it's done now for this session. Impressive for Ferrari to be that fast on the mediums though, especially on track conditions where it's hard to put temp even on softs let alone mediums.

Not bad in terms of competitiveness. They aren't that high on the speed traps so I am guessing engine modes are down still. Will check laptimes later compared to Mercedes, but Lando's lap was really good considering he got some oversteer out of T2.

As I say that, Lewis has put an absolute stormer so I don't know anymore. They've been on the up for a couple of races so it's not super surprising but this gap is too big.

Hammy is a Canada specialist but that gap is MASSIVE, something has to be an outlier, maybe his engine mode?

Let's see how it stands after quali, if we do indeed get a dry quali which I really hope we do. It's the only way to know for sure if this Mercedes pace is true or not.

Its simple. We are waiting to see Mclaren getting the engine to full power for Qualifying.

It's a bit different from other times Mercedes has been on top of a practice session. Hamilton pulled a really good one out of the bag. Look at his gap to George.

I think he is in for a shot at pole here.

We shal see. Consider that Mclaren has a huge difference between practise and qualifying. I think we shal be ok.
