Valtteri Bottas lead the Austrian Grand Prix from start to finish, but it was behind him that all the action happened. Multiple retirements and collisions caused just 11 cars at the finish, with Leclerc and Norris surprisingly joining Bottas on the podium.

yeah but what DAS does would have a positive impact for any team. I also think that Das is(t
) for tyre management. It doesn't need to better lap times in one lap but if pink mercedes starts to slow down after 15 laps and 2020 merc can go 17-18 laps more with lesser loss, that means it gives speed advantage.
Red Bull complained to the FIA about the f-duct before making their own version, of course, so it was obviously a worthwhile device. This is my suspicion as well. Its benefit is also going to be limited on a track like the A1 Ring, or whatever they call it now.
Remember the extra pedal they ran for a while? Used in the corners and somehow controlling braking or diff? That seemed to be very effective at the time.
