I'm really hopeful that Mclaren can show an absolutely devastating pace on Sunday because many people have not had the opportunity to understand their true potential as it is mostly hidden in obscure sector timings or masked by safety cars. With the others nowhere in sight, Oscar and Lando will be able to drive without pressure and then you really see their speed. Everyone back in Woking and mclaren fans deserve to see what this car and its drivers are really capable of. Let's just forget about the championships and experience the sheer brutality of the MCL-39, a monster hidden in plain sight. :)
Why would anybody except a Mclaren fan want to see this? :/
Primarily because Lando Norris thinks we are all very stupid and some people actually believe him.

Have no idea who Lando thinks he's fooling with these comments.

It is exactly what Mercedes did with Lewis for years.
I really appreciated when Red Bull/Max dominated, they just said something like "car feels great, we are going for a win".

Not even just that, the comments he made about Max jumping into the car and saying Max would be disappointed after? I'm not a Max fan, but to me, that is just an outrageous statement and nobody else would disagree.

I need George, Max, or heck Oscar/Kimi to bring this man back to earth this weekend. My goodness, Mclaren is showing everything NOT to do with the fastest car.

Drivers like Senna , Schumacher, Max etc are not just talent, they are bullies on the track. No matter what they are as people in life, their "track personality" is that of a bully.

Unfortunately, since 2024, what I wished never happened , has happened. Lando has been psychologically "buried" by Max. It's nothing to do with actual racing, but in the clash of egos. Lando worries too much "what will the world think" - he should be ready to sacrifice his friendship if he wants to be WDC. He says something that's meant to hurt Max back, then the very next day he changes his opinion and goes back to being "too nice". He shouldn't do that. No world champion has ever been a "goody buddy" with his competitor. It just doesn't work out.

Macca is either running a high DF setup to have a better tyre management in the race and particularly in qualy for not overheating the rear in S3, or are they just conforming to the TD regarding flexing RW? ... or maybe they didn`t turn up the PU? ... it`s a little bit of all above, isn`t it?

interesting that a couple of teams are using their 3rd set of harder tires already, so they must believe that the soft is decent race tire.

1. And they were the only top team to use just one set of softs ... so they`ll have at least one new set for the race.
2. More of that, Ferrari, Macca, and VER were the only ones in the top teams that used only softs tyres in this session
3. All the teams lowered their top speed by quite a margin. Either all were running low PU modes (improbably) or they all went for a high DF setup in order to keep their tyres less thermal deg ...
4. Regarding this matter, Macca and VER are on the same 315kph level, although Ferrari and Merc are some 3-4 kph higher

Then, the track temp was much lower than yesterday, and from the qualy lap sims it seems that Macca is killing everybody, mainly in the S2, although the NOR time was set on old 6 lap soft tyres:

I really have to say, that this will be one of the greatest F*** ups in F1 history if Mclaren In some unfathomable way, doesn't win this race, by 40+ seconds. I really do think the race will be soo crazy or boring, wouldn't be shocked if Mclaren finds some outrageous ways to make it interesting or just to keep us viewers on edge.

In honesty, yes I'm crazy, I don't see either Mclaren winning this race, let alone a podium. I feel it in my core, but I'm prepared to be as wrong as ever and hey that's predictions for ya.

It only makes people more appreciative of Hamilton. Greatest in the sport but didn't have to stoop to those tactics to get his success.

Ferrari took one more set than everyone else yesterday, that's why they were on used in FP3.
