AMuS Ticker just put in a post referring to the noticeable tire degradation of Leclerc`s long run yesterday. They were talking to a different team about that. The guy stated that they have whitnessed that Leclerc`s tires were already 8 laps old and was already suffering from graining
As I understood with translation: AmuS wrote - tires were used much, so after additional 8 laps they were granulated a lot
They said the tires were used in the previous 8 Lap stint and there they already sufferd from graining. Hence its no wonder that the degradation was that severe. German is my mother language

Apparently Bottas confirmed yesterday in an interview that Mercedes are basically just cruising around trying to do more constant speeds on the straights to get good aero data. I can't find the interview to verify however.

Well, it's quite obvious that Ferrari is currently using higher powermodes than the mercs. Mercs are just crusing and collecting data while Ferrari is testing longrun pace (not completely flatout, but with higher powermodes). Currently Vettels seems to test how strong the tires are in terms of overheating and degradation.

wings are wider now, so I predict times to be significantly faster than last year.
It seems my prediction was correct. The wider wings are more than offsetting the previous, more intricate, endplate, flaps and etc
Why do you think your prediction is correct? I fail to say any last year record being broken yet. And don't forget these cars will have one year of all around development it is expected of them to be the fastest ever even with the hamper of the new restrictions
