McLaren MCL60

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Has anyone found a good photo of the changes to the rear brake ducts and rear suspensions?

No New Suspension... Only the Cover of Suspension Arm...

I know it's a variation in absoltue camera angle in the two above images.....but the top rearmost link appears to be shifted in the two....and not really accounted for by camera angle change.

I think there's enough consistency in the two pictures to judge that rear top link has repositioned inner pickup location.

Notably, the MCL60 is the only other chassis that shares pull front and push rear spring operation, same as RB.

from the latest unboxed video you can see they are exploiting the floor iceskates more, at the start when the car leaves the pits, you can see the refleksion in the pit floor and when it leaves the garage

Ive highligthed the best i could and you can clearly see the reflection in the floor, with the big skirt and the floor edge channel, keep in mind its upside down

What is that half way down Mclarens waterslide?
At first I thought it was a duct so I zoomed in. It’s not a duct but it looks like the slide changes in pitch? To alter the air speed?
Just a fan's point of view

Looks like shade of the inner side lip.

Edit: zooming in, it actually looks like the carbon weave.

Looks like a joint between 2 seperately molded pieces and the weave pattern is not aligned.

New rear wing from McLaren: If I saw it clearly, then an updated rear wing was brought to McLaren! Hurrah, finally! Take a close look at the articulation of the main flap and the top flap. The slit between them continues further down, I have not seen this before in Monaco:

We probably found a lot of downforce from the underbody because for the first time we look like we are not the champions in barn door competition

Same T-Tray as Silverstone looking back at pictures.

The suspension changes in Austria appeared to be some slight changes to create the appropriate gap for the airflow to meet the rear, nothing revolutionary.
