so the new brooms work better than the old ones....i have the gut feeling the car will be cemented where it was the whole year.(But then I thought Senna would not score a point...but he did ..)

I am thinking U-sidepods next year. Together with the low gearbox you are just able to create an airstream all the way through the tunnel, over the gearbox/crashbox and under the beamwing.

As for next year, Barrichello and Raikkonen should e driving next to each other, I am sure that Barrichello has not lost it, but just eneds to be pushed and motivated to go for a good result, even if that means beating Raikkonen on an regular basis, it will give Barrichello motivation to work harder and help in development. Barrichello is currently just lacking motivation.

MAldonado is better than barichello right now. He's definitely faster and he brings more money too. I don't see the benefits of rubens outweighing raikonenen and Maldonado.

Next years car is going to have to be very different (all new i suspect). Are there any particularly good points to this car. Any areas where it does perform well?

For the record, places for each driver at GP:

Rubens: ret,ret,13,15,17, 9, 9,12,13,ret,13,16,12,13

Pastor: ret,ret,18,17,15,18,ret,18,14,14,16,10,11,11

Pastor has beaten Rubens 5 times. At the last 3 races, Rubens retried at Germany and was beaten at Spain also.

Qualifying:

Rubens: 17,15,15,11,19,11,16,13,15,14,15,14,13,12

Pastor: 15,18,17,14, 9, 8,12,15, 7,13,17,21,14,13

Pastor fastest 6 times.

That's what I was thinking. I doubt it would be possible or even make any sense, but it'd be interesting if a team tries something like the U sidepods, Williams gearbox, with a super compact rear end like the RB7, pull rod of course. Packaging would seem like a nightmare if not an impossibility. Throw in the Force India/Lotus/Mercedes blade style roll hoop and Toro Rosso double floor for good measure.

That car would be a disaster...Double floor and U wouldn't work alone.

Williams gbox and RBR rear end also probably wouldn't work with a U-sidepod.

Its been a big problem for Merc this year. If anyone copies it they will go through the same teething problems.
My guess is Mercedes will probably ditch the idea as it was meant to help with a short wheelbase design, something that has also presented its own problems for Mercedes.
