I can’t judge either as can’t see the lines that were taken but ham could have turned in at the end of Wellington as he was in front but he yielded to Max on the inside but this situation didn’t happen for the crash so I’d just be interested to see a comparison of the lines taken that’s all.InsaneX_Badger wrote: ↑18 Jul 2021, 16:29Not arguing with you at all, but in what you are saying, max should have yielded when they entered luffield as he was slightly behind and on the inside. It's a really difficult call no matter what side you take.
Lewis was first on the brakes, which is why Max pulled ahead in the braking zone. From the replay I saw, it looked like Lewis was going to go tight in, wide out.
What? Max dives into the apex?Hoffman900 wrote: ↑18 Jul 2021, 16:27Instead he pushes Lewis right, swings left, and then dives into the apex.
I wouldn’t be surprised either. If it was a concrete run off area with ‘just’ a pirouette then there might not be one at all. Purely because this was so spectacular it might be seen differently.
I think Max will be a touch more circumspect around Hamilton in future. Up till now, Lewis has given Max lots of room because Lewis was in title fights and Max wasn't. Now they're fighting each other and Max is ahead, Lewis won't be quite so easy to bully.grubschumi13 wrote: ↑18 Jul 2021, 16:18No doubt we will hear, Ham: “if you no longer go for a gap that exists you are no longer a racing driver because we are competing.”
Will this be the end of the respect between the two.
If he is in your blind spot, how are you supposed to see him?
Max did indeed make an initial adjustment to give Hamilton space, but when it came to the turn in you can see Max's line pinched towards the apex. At the same time Lewis didn't make the apex, contact was inevitable. I've no affinity towards Lewis, a penalty would do my McLaren boys a treat, but its a racing incident for me.101FlyingDutchman wrote: ↑18 Jul 2021, 16:28You can see on the sky pad that VER gave HAM room by reducing the steering angle. He absolutely gave HAM space as he knew he was there. Except HAM did nothing with the extra space and kept it tight with VER. To me it’s deliberately placing a car in a place on track to cause a collision.
The impact with Max’s rear straightens Lewis’s steering, that’s why he ends up in the middle of the track.GOAT wrote: ↑18 Jul 2021, 16:33What? Max dives into the apex?Hoffman900 wrote: ↑18 Jul 2021, 16:27Instead he pushes Lewis right, swings left, and then dives into the apex.
Seriously?!
Max leaves like a Grand Canyon of space on the inside for Lewis..
Lewis isn’t able to put his car on the apex and therefor hits Max- 100% Lewis to blame, he took the risk of crashing out.
Sorry man, but you’re wrong.GOAT wrote: ↑18 Jul 2021, 16:33What? Max dives into the apex?Hoffman900 wrote: ↑18 Jul 2021, 16:27Instead he pushes Lewis right, swings left, and then dives into the apex.

From the overhead view they showed on sky pad at the point of impact there was room, but Max was still aiming for the Apex.GOAT wrote: ↑18 Jul 2021, 16:33What? Max dives into the apex?Hoffman900 wrote: ↑18 Jul 2021, 16:27Instead he pushes Lewis right, swings left, and then dives into the apex.
