Norris had massive lockup at T10 twice, to end both his C3 and C1 stints. Braking whilst turning with bump + tight slow corner whilst track falls away.. I can see it being a problem for McLaren car
To be fair, it seems like t10 was a problem for everyone
THIS. I think everyone had a massive lockup or three there

Are we gonna expect upgrades in the next two test days or at the first race?
Nothing major until Japan

Very good day. Plenty of running, good pace, no mistakes or issues.

Compared to last two years this was an amazing test day.

I know it’s only the first day of testing so things could change but you have to say Stella’s comments pre-season were stop on.

Mclaren- same step in performance as the last 2 upgrade packages so effectively staying in the hunt.

Red Bull- saved resource towards the end of last year for this seasons car, could be an unpleasant surprise- it looks like it is.

RB2- quickest in slow corners last season, will be strong this season.

Rest- all very tight.

It’s pleasing to know that he knows his stuff so well👍🏻

from @f1debrief, i just placed the circuit map, losing in top speed but slow corner they are able to carry similar speed to rb. Would have been nice with a time loss curve in addition to see where they loose out

Also, it looks like Lando had a moment at T6-T7 complex.

Don't think so. Throttle trace similar . Just that is area that shows a load difference

I think honestly rb just build a rocket for the straights, offcourse lets hope difference in PU mode, but Helmut marko already mentioned the reason behind mercs zero concept and rb for taking, to some degree, similar route, is because of low drag, i expect them to destroy the others on the straights, but lets hope :-)

Agree about the turn6/7 seem lando had a moment, ah i see, so if throttle is ok then the car just lacked

If the rear gets loose, you can actually keep the same throttle input, but the car slides scrubbing speed. So without seeing onboards, cannot be sure.

Telemetry analysis should be in the team thread not the car thread btw

In this article they think McLaren have fallen behind the lead group and are around Alpine's level.

Is this based on telemetry or ‘from watching track side’?
