To be honest I think that's more down to the double diffuser. The cars were generally equal (or only a bit slower) in 2011 with the exhaust blowing and the Pirellis.

Yep, as far as I'm concerned this is nothing to do with Pirelli, it's to do with the lack of the double diffuser, the blown diffuser, and a few other toys.

Yes - I heard somewhere that this year's tyres (not sure if last year's was the same or not) are very sensitive to how you use the first mm of rubber. You need to really drive daintily until that first mm of rubber is gone, then you can push. I don't understand why, but yeah.

why dont they make them 1 mm thicker, and brush off the 1 mm?
