Politics and public image from stripping Vettel of the title.
For me this race sums up the season beautifully - Alonso did the best he could with his car, and Vettel drove very inconsistently. He had the pace at times and made some good overtakes, but also made some clumsy moves and a couple of mistakes including that rookie first lap and overtaking Kobayashi under yellow flags. But ultimately the Red Bull was a good enough car to carry him home.
Third best driver in the best car brought it home today.
How 3rd best?? Way better than over-rated Hamilton.
Hamilton was out-driven by both Hulkernberg & Button for major part of the race. A Lucky SC got him even close to a victory. Race Pace isnt everything. Even Grosjean is quick
Vettel was shunted out by Senna. He had a damaged car which was WORSE & DEFINITELY Worse than Hamilton & Alonso & those weak-nesses got exposed in the dry. Vettel was 20 & last at the end of the 1st lap for no fault of his own.
In the rain he did a brilliant job. The team screwed up, made a blunder again with a pitstop & Vettel with Damaged machinery fought his way up.
Brilliant. Brilliant Drive.
Top Class Driver.
Alonso is probably More Deserving. World Class, Absolutely as good as anyone even in inferior machinery.
But Hamilton who probably fluked his way to a win in 2008 thanks to Glock screwing it up SHOULD never ever be compared to these guys.
