Seems like it’s impossible for Charles to have a completely clean weekend with everything working the way they should. I’m still waiting for it.
The recovery in the race was very good and showed what was possible. Balance of the car, when in the optimal operating window, is excellent.
McLaren is not a rocketship. In Baku it was clearly slower on one lap and also slower in race pace (even more so considering the Mini-DRS) and in Singapore the SF-24 was at least on the same level in both qualifying and race. Even Charles said they were up for a 1-2 in qualifying.
McLaren’s front wing was flexing like crazy again. It’s about time Ferrari bring their own, but maybe we won’t see it before next year because the new front wing, besides seeming to be a good step forward, is like concrete in comparison to McLaren’s.
