We often talk about the differences between Hamilton and Bottas, last weekend in Monza those differences were very evident given the inability of Bottas to mount any kind of meaningful attack on Leclerc when his turn up at bat came. Some commentary from Toto on the matter which is nothing new, but also something that tends to get a lot of push back on whenever the topic comes up.

Wolff said the way Bottas was unable to threaten Leclerc as much as Hamilton had earlier in the race exposed an aspect of his driving that needs improving.

"It looks like he struggles a little bit when he gets in the wake of the car, to extract the maximum," explained Wolff.

"Lewis in that position is able to somehow get closer and put himself in a position to go for a move.

"It's something he's got to work on. But on the positive side, his racing was great. He was really fast. Probably in pure race time, the fastest car."

they already had a fine, it was one degree under the limit before FP1.

I don't know whats going with Mercedes, two strategic mistake from last two races. SG is worst strategy and they lost place. Not good for them if they continue like this. Next year seems very difficult for them to get both WDC and WCC.

It seems like this team is fast becoming complacent. Not much is progressing on the PU front and keeps making bad strategic decisions, which at times, due to Hamilton's brilliance, has turned out to be good ones.

They have never gone for an undercut, not once in the recent memory. Always happy to play it safe and try to go longer and lose out. Hope this changes in future, especially where gaining track position is more important than having tyre life. It was so ridiculous today that they didn't take risk with Bottas, who could have potentially taken the race lead OR at best, secured 2nd.

They undercutted at Monza, just didn't work.
