Leclerc backing off and closing then reopening DRS on the straight. Noted Hamilton stayed below 300km/h on the straight during his so-far fastest lap this morning. Lots of stuff being done to look slow.

On C4 right? He did 1.17.5 on C2 before, so there's certainly more there.
So far at least RB, RP, McL, Merc (from memory, maybe there are more) have done 1.17.5 or faster on C2 - track differences between the days aside. Still, I'm mostly hoping for a proper race-sim/longrun comparison with (at least an attempt) track conditions corrected.

I think the conditions were better during the first test it seems.

He did a 17.2 on C2 at the beginning of a 6 lap stint.

here's vettel 1.16.8 with telemetry

Only an observation .. Not reading much into it ... he managed to catch 308kmph on the back straight relatively easily compared to the main straight .. i know the entry speeds are lot different.. but the main straight is probably twice as long so he didnt turn the taps fully on the main straight ... bottom line, he forgot that he need to be sandbagging on the back straight :D

Last year everybody was talking about how Ferrari would dominate the season. It took them half a season to get the car decent. I don't see them making the same mistake. They are clearly doing their own thing, not pumping in eye grabbing times.

I don't think they will own the rest, but it does seem the media is hugely overplaying any issues they might have.

Could be playing with ERS deployment modes. Top teams don't want to give anything away while simultaneously trying to read into every detail of their competition, who are trying to give nothing away.
