Could the teams not split strategy - one driver test for the race, the other test the new tyres? You'd think they could almost transpose a setup from one car to another fairly closely after all the experience they have (this may not work for new drivers though admittedly).raymondu999 wrote:I think time itself will be the limitation. Teams will be doing long runs in FP and seeing if a one-stopper is viable or if a two stop is quicker. Given that it is a raceable circuit and a short pitlane, it will be crucial to start the race committed to your strategy, be it a one-stop or a two-stop.
This is going to be a timekiller IMO - and that will limit the running on the new tyres.
I think it'll be pretty vital for everyone to test these tyres. Absolutely everyone has some kind of agenda to ensure the tyres conform to, so everyone will want maximum data.Cam wrote:Could the teams not split strategy - one driver test for the race, the other test the new tyres? No ass-ery taken I prefer people be completely blunt with me and tell me when and why I'm wrong, and try to learn instead of getting sentimental about it. Probably why I tend to get along with people in the long run.bdr529 wrote:Not to sound like an ass, but living here for 47 years I can attest that's pretty much everyday, godlameroso wrote: It's only hard to predict the weather around there when the jet stream does "funny" things,
This is what we got yesterday, and 4 days ago they had no clue, that boat ramp should be a 6 lane highway

Note – we're still a week out, even the best forecasts will be crap.
They might as well, even something as official as NOAA uses pressure maps, previous weather history, and the jet stream to design their weather models. It's precise guessing but guessing non-the less.SectorOne wrote:yr.no is the best weather site i have come across.
But as Beelse said, it´s way to early to make any accurate statements on weather.
Edit: and to reply to the post below, what country the weather site originates from does not matter.
They don´t lick their finger and put it up in the air locally when determining weather
