I think Meds&Hards for silverstone is very good, especially for Merc and Rbr, but I can't tell the same thing for Ferrari and Lotus. As far as I remember, Hard tyre was modified to work cooler and temperature window was widened. So I think most teams will go OPP or OOPP.

Dereck Warwick asks people to stay off Saturday to help make the Sunday event better in terms of parking.
He was talking to James Allen.

Except the fact that everyone who finished went OPP? Out of the race finishers only de la Rosa didn't - and he did a one-stop. An early indication that a downforce deficit potentially is better for tyres in the Pirelli era

You're thinking of 2011, not 2012. Back then nobody wanted to go on the option tyres - and minimized time on the primes by just eking out the options as possible.

Alonso went PPO, but you're right, it was the option that was the worse race tyre.

My mistake, it was 2011 when Ferrari couldn't get the hard tire to work, that's when Alonso's Ferrari got lapped in Spain after hanging around with the leaders while on the option tire.

It's not happening again. The article was referring to last year.

Bruce McLaren on building his first McLaren racecars, 1970

“I've got to be careful what I say, but possibly to probably Juan would have had a bigger go”
Sir Frank Williams after the 2003 Canadian GP, where Ralf hesitated to pass brother M. Schumacher

Please edit your post - Warwick did not say that, he said that it was bad having to ask people to do that last year.

Got this from twitter.

@cmckinleyF1 : Silverstone garage order (From entry to exit) Marussia, Caterham, STR, RBR, Ferrari, McLaren, Lotus, Mercedes, Sauber, Force India, Williams

Lowest three teams of last year followed by championship order. Is this the norm this year? I remember it used to be defending champions getting the 1st garage many years ago.

Was it not a problem with the last pit box not allowing the car to hit the limiter before the pit line?
It being a disadvantage or something.

The layout of the new pit complex meant that some fans in the stands cannot see the pitboxes at the end of the pits and possibly the first box so they situate the top teams in the middle where they can be seen by all.

As you may remember the pitlane exit is on an incline.

That is correct. I remember RBR complaining about it some time ago.

Really? I don't remember that at all, I only remember them complaining about the same thing in Suzuka, 2 years ago.

I said I don't remember Red Bull complaining about not hitting the limiter after their pitstops in Silverstone, I only remember them complaining for it in Suzuka 2011.
