At last, Ferrari and RBR set a quick lap time for the first time this race weekend, maybe for their own accessment, to check how fast they can go in the dry, before the rain comes.
Both flexing their muscles, I'll say.

Sometimes i wonder if Vettel is really that much faster than Webber. Webber can match him some of the times, but he just can't hook up the qualifying.
Well the Mclaren looks like it's not supposed to be where it is. It's squeezed in with a few hundredths between Webber and Vettel.
Ferrari back in the groove and Shumacher looking better as time goes on.
Quali will be tight!

edit: what came of the lotus?

I can only rely on live commentary from Autosport or PlanetF1 to provide information of which tyres they might be using. I don't know if the other members here have any other way of keeping track of that.

The Red Bulls apparently left their qualy simulations down to the last few minutes and benefited much from optimal track conditions. The Ferraris have significantly improved compared to yesterday. Schumacher was consistently faster than Rosberg in today's practice and finished a tenth up on him. On the other hand, Button was half-a-sec down on Hamilton.

I'll leave the posting of the final practice live-timing screen-cap to the others.

IIRC it was a front wing element the came off of the Kovalainen's Lotus, the moveable flap?

And the Ferrari's were doing race pace preparation on Friday, hence their slow times. Only until FP3 did they begin their qualification programme, and that was on both the option and primes, with the latter being used towards the end.

It appears that Kovy lost a piece of his front wing over the kerbs.

I think you have a valid point there ringo, but it is maybe a little unfair to compair Webber and Vettle, really head-to-head!
It's a little funny though, because Webber has always been regarded as a good qualifier, he sticks it in over the one lap; He has consistently outqualified his team mate before Vettle, whether it was Coulthard, Rosberg or Hiedfeld, he was always said to excell on the saturday. But since last year, it has been different. As good as Webber already is, still he has been below Vettel. I think, this just shows what a supreme talent Vettle is!

Yep, definitely raining. Looks like it might continue into Q1. Wonder if any of the teams tried compromised setups during practice earlier?

Crivvens!!
Button beached his car, 13th place and Petrov comes rolling past in the gravel, taking avoiding action so as not to hit the marshalls.

Lots and lots of cars going off and finally some Wets are going on, not the inters.

Rain getting worse. Schumi on full wets now. Early runners may have gotten lucky. Ferraris, Hamilton and Rosberg still down on times.
