McLaren MCL36

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Yes, but he mentions that is ducted into the car, not that air is diverted to the top of the floor

From Barcelona, impossible to see where the air goes though

Here's a better picture, definitely no "intakes"

Interesting...
Absolute nonsense
There isn't a single wheel size between cars in this comparison that is the same.

% of wheelbase = #number of pixels between rear tire and roll hoop / #number of pixels between front axle and rear axle (which are identified by center of wheel).

What is confusing about this? None of the wheel sizes need to be the same. Scale doesn't need to be the same either. They are independent measurements.

The only "bug" with this calculation is that the renders may not have the most up to date wheel base. It would have been better to use real photos of the cars.

Just a reminder, guys, the car threads get huge as it is, let’s not make it more difficult than it is to find and keep track of stuff.

Team talk in the team thread, red flags in the testing thread, thank you.
Posts not about the car may be deleted or moved as necessary.

“Why the car understeers”, belongs here. “Will we beat that team?” does not.
Rivals, not enemies.
