Modern F1 Closed Cockpit Concept by Jacek Kolodziejczyk

Here's a Picture I found on Reddit [http://www.reddit.com/r/formula1/commen ... _by_jacek/]. Looks kind of cool, I like the look of the low profile tires, although it could probably be Photoshopped better. What are your thoughts?

Thoughts from an aesthetic standpoint, or performance standpoint (obviously this was probably not designed with performance in mind by the specific artist)

Just as an add-on to the thread title; remember the X1 designed by Newey was closed cockpit. Albeit closed-wheel as well.

Funny thing is if you took away the garden shed style canopy it would be a very nice looking racing car imo

Wow that Ferrari looks BADASS :o I think the FIA should introduce new rules to enforce/encourage aesthetics. Sure, it's all about speed, but who says you can't both look good and go fast ? If a closed cocpit car is gonna look anything like that, I say bring it on! Not to mention the obvious security benefits it brings...

FAKE!! that can't be future Ferrari! IT has push rods!! Burn it!!

Nice picture though, very well done. It looks like a 2D digital painting not really a "photoshop."

Kubica on the glass is a nice touch from a Polish artist.

I like the middle of the car, but the tires and the front look don't do it for me. My toy/racecar meter is leaning slightly off center to toy.

Yeah, tires definitely need to be redone. IMO the canopy looks awesome. I saw a video (I believe it was posted on F1 tech)of the FIA testing different canopies by launching a tire at the windscreen. The jet fighter canopy look would be cool on an F1 car (no like this one with those pillars coming down and obstructing the drivers view. I think having something like that on an F1 car would be cool and safer.

The redbull is better. I don't like the canopy for open wheelers though.

If it must be there, make it like a fighter plane; transparent and very open.

Want to see the driver's shoulders like the old days.

Personally would like to see the concept on the Ferrari rather than the Redbull.

Ferrari concept can be made like the jet canopy without the A-piller. The top of the canopy can be painted in the driver helmet scheme.

The vision area can also have HUD as seen in the Eurofighter, with driver getting all the data he needs. The HUD can also help in cleaning up vision when the track is wet or raining. The edge of track and cars in front can be displayed on the HUD

By the looks of that Ferrari it would smash the RB7 to pieces. Gogogo, build these cars, so much better looking than the current models on their tiny rims!

I don't think low-profile is really the way to go for performance. I'm sure the tire guys on here can explain better than me.

Looks like a powerboat with wheels. I don't see the looks being all that good personally.
