2011 exhaust mimicking bodywork in 2012

Post

I made this drawing of the RB8 and added that bodywork in front of the diffuser with the purpose of keeping energy in the exhaust plume and concentrating them at that spot ...
this bodywork would be below a certain height (which i dont remember right now) that the minimum radius for bodywork rule applies...is there any other rule preventing this?

Yup: "No re-indigestion of exhaust gases!" (Charlie Whiting, FIA technical delegate)
:D

Also, most of the exhaust plume wouldn't go in there. You might be onto something if you instead focused on ait coming from the sidepod undercut, though.

Something i thought of, and put on my Twitter page, that i think is legal, a pipe that injests cold air, gets heated by getting close to the engine, and then goes into the EBD zone. You could have the pipe exit a 45mm diamater and the inlet a 70mm diamater so the air speeds up a little as well, however it could be a slightly draggy concept as well. However it would work.

My drawing using the VJM/05 that used as a trace from my iPad as a light box:
