You set the static pressure at the inlets (front grill etc) to 0... is that how it's often done? I've always wondered if there's a good shortcut to avoid dealing with cooling drag.

I never had to do this in CFDesign but it must be possible to add motion to the wheels ? Because with static wheels it is really far from the real situation ! Otherwise its a nice model you've got !

Yes it's possible, but uses too much RAM, so it's quite hardcore for my laptop.

What specifically are you looking at? Rear end car geometry is something which has been studied in vast amounts, so you should have shortage of basic validation of aerostructures, and what should be going on.

Also, what program did you used to create the mesh? want to share a revealing picture of the volume mesh too?

I used CFDesign own automatic meshing.
Yes, it needs some fine tuning, but right now I am trying to see that all the CAD models are ok to mesh.

I too am curious to perform CFD runs on that type of car. I race a 1993 BMW 325is and very interested in adding aero.

Yea is there some updates on your project Tonn? What values of downforce and drag did you obtain with your models?
