A few things to consider...
Would extraction of air from the diffuser footplate area using the brake duct fins be a viable alternative to the enhanced vortex generation that was used to seal the diffuser.
If the brake ducts can be flexible, a fin could rest on the top of the footplate and prevent any air flowing from the top to the bottom of the diffuser. Furthermore, slots could be added to that fin that would extract air from the area and act against tire squirt. I'm not really clear on the rules in this area so I thought I could turn to some more knowledgeable people from this site to help me out. A further development of this idea could be using a winglet instead of that fin and extracting air from a cutout in the footplate. That can't be legal can it? It would be a bit like a DDD!
