Wet Weather Tyre Allocation

Post

Does anything think it's a bit unfair on the teams and the fans that they only get 3 sets of wet weather tyres? I think they should be given a lot more tyres for the practice sessions so we can see a lot more running in situations like the current one in Silverstone. Conserving tyres from practice 1 is just a joke.

Thoughts?

Having worked with enough race teams who have had unlimited (ok not unlimited but 20 to 30 sets in the truck) quantities of wet tyres, and who've chosen to stay in the pits when it rained I doubt tyre allocation will make the slightest difference.

Maybe teams could be given a target mileage to run to so at least fans get to see more action? Although then you have issues of safety etc ....

I don't think theres much that can be done as teams don't like to go out and put risk on the car even if they had more sets. Plus in an era where the sport is trying to keep the cost down and be more eco friendly I don't think they would want to have to fly, ship or carry extra sets of tyres around the world.
