Just asking for some direction actually, any chance there are any of you out there who will give detailed dimensions of an existing rear wing to 2012 and 2013 dimensions ? May be wrong but I believe the beam wing is banned for the 2013 season so would love to see a concept.
One article suggested that with the DRS open the diffuser stalls as well (on the ferrari at least) due to the altered airflow at the back of the car and reduced upwash. When DRS is available all the time (in quali) the time it takes for the diffuser flow to reattach is much more important than in the race where DRS is rarely available. The theory is that the ferrari diffuser flow does not reattach as quickly as other teams, causing instability under braking after a straight. Extra quali laps would not help them, if DRS was more limited in quali, things would improve for them. If beam wings were banned I'd expect this to become a problem for more teams.
