I just hope Tokyo R246 is in it, one of the best tracks in the series .

Despite the fact that I found R246 interesting in GT3, I find it really boring now, especially once you've done the 1000km race few times. There is no excitement on this track except the very fast chicane underneath the trees before the double right. I like Midfield Raceway more! Red Rock Valley Speedway (from GT2) was also nice, for example. :) (sorry for the off-topic)

I've only ever raced R246 on GT4, maybe it isn't as enjoyable with the different physics engine on GT5, but to me all the corners except the final hairpin are exciting, medium to high-speed corners. I'm very surprised that you would rate Midfield raceway above it - aside from the flat-out chicane and long left-hander, there isn't much to get excited about, and both of these corner types are present in R246.

Maybe it's because I prefer the more difficult medium-high speed corners more than the flat-out corners. My favourite parts of the R246 track are the 2 right handers following the faux-rouge flat-out chicane, and the first chicane (turns 2 and 3). I will concede that most of the medium-high speed corners are very similar so I can see why it would get boring, but I find that helps get into a quick rhythm.

If I didn't have to study for exams, I would be tearing that track up right now!

I also hope they include a proper qualifying system in GT6.

Well, http://www.gtplanet.net/ is always a good source for the latest news on GT.
Dear FIA, if you read this, please pm me for a redesign of the Technical Regulations to avoid finger nose shapes for 2016! :-)

They say that the new cars are:
  • Alfa Romeo TZ3 Stradale ’11
    Alpine A110 1600S ’68
Audi Sport quattro S1 Rally Car ’86
    Ferrari Dino 246 GT ’71
    KTM X-BOW R ’12
    Light Car Company Rocket ’07
    Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT3 ’11
    Nissan GT-R Nismo GT3 N24 Schulze Motorsport
Tesla Motors Model S Signature Performance ’12
and that you can download other new cars after a while (I don't know if these downloads are free but I hope so).
I hope that Porsche is also getting into the game because at the moment you only have Ruf which is a bit like Porsche but they have more power.

The new circuits are:
  • Silverstone
    Brands Hatch
    Mount Panorama
and 4 other circuits. Just like the cars, there will come new circuits.

Porsche won´t come because EA has an exclusive license and only hand out a sublicense to Turn10 (Forza)
Which means a lot of money.

pretty sure Porsche have been in previous GT titles and with this being a PS4 launch title they'll go all out

The only other porsches being available in sims before has been through the championship that they have run.
So not a direct contract with Porsche because as i said, EA Games has the exclusive license and have had it for many many years and do not plan on letting go of it anytime soon.

There´s also a reason why there has never been Porsche´s in any of Polyphony Digital games.
RUF is the next best thing and that´s why game developers rather go that route then pay millions to EA just to get a car.

I´ve seen emails from Porsche being quite irritated because EA licensed out a sublicense to Turn10.
when Forza 4 was released it came without Porsches because Turn10 and EA could not make a deal however eventually they did and Porsche´s starting coming in as DLC´s after Turn10 opened their wallet.

When you are a game developer like PD you don´t really pay for licenses as manufacturers come to you to get their car in your game for free advertisement.
Not the case with Porsche which is locked up with EA and idiotically quite happy with it.

Iirc porsche have never been in the gt series as it has always been ruf. Gt6 needs to be a huge improvement on 5 and with project cars around the corner we will have more than one choice. On subject of tracks my favourite is laguna seca aha it was brilliant in gt2!

If you want to drive a real sim then look out for Assetto Corsa.
It´s a proper simulator compared to GT6 and PCARS.

It won´t be on console no but it will have some similarities to GT5 with road cars but the main difference is that it´s a proper simulator.

It might be ported to console in the future though. PCARS is also quite similar to GT5 but they have in common that they are not for the hardcore simracer.

Another example is while GT5 and PCARS have tracks, the ones in AC are laserscanned.

The demo that is out for GT6 is quite shocking. Frame rate is very inconsistent, even without having other cars around you, and I'd almost go as far as to say it's underivable when the massive frame drops happen. To give you an idea, anyone who has played a fair amount of GT5 will be familar with the frame rate issues when a car in front of you drops a wheel on the dirt and kicks up all the particle effects, well the lag in GT6 is similar in severity (if not worse), except it will show up every lap in certain sections of some tracks. The other problem is just the shear quantity of aliasing in the game (which is much worse than it ever was in GT5), driving down the pit straight at Silverstone is just sea of shimmering mess and it's so distracting.

I know the PS3 has a terrible GPU and an even worse memory budget, but instead of marginally improving the lighting, they should suppress the aliasing as much as they can before improving the effects. Employing something like FXAA will suppress 90-95% of the aliasing in the game and is computationally cheap. even on a PS3.The frame rate issues are unacceptable for a console game as well.

As for the physics engine, it's hard to tell from a short drive in only two cars, one of which being a leaf, but it doesn't feel too different to GT5. The 370z seemed to understeer a lot less in low speed corners then I would have expected if I were to have driven it in GT5 (Haven't driven it much in GT5 for a comparison), and flicking the leaf in with high steering input and no throttle seemed to induce oversteer that you would expect to get from a front wheel drive car, which didn't really seem to happen in GT5.

I was very disappointed with the Technology Preview. It's a great game, and I'm still very excited for it's release. But there is so much hype around this game, and I don't think it lived up to it. Right now I am enjoying rFactor 2 much more. The forcefeedback in rFactor 2 is incredible, Assetto Corsa's force feedback was a huge let down, you barely feel any of the kerbs. I found Assetto Corsa very forgiving too. But I'm going to withhold anymore judgement until I can drive a wider variety of cars and track. rFactor 2 is really only racecars right now too. So road car verse race car thing. Graphically though, Assetto Corsa is incredible, and really well optimized (Something rF2 can learn from!).

I found it interesting that Gran Turismo 6 is being released on PS3. (On the same note, Grand Theift Auto 5 is for PS3/Xbox 360). I know in the case of Grand Theift Auto 5, that stopped me, and some of my friends from considering getting a Xbox One/Playstation 4. And wonder what kind, if any, pressure Sony/Microsoft put on them? Forza 5 is coming out for Xbox One too. I think that's going to be a big advantage to Forza.
