Yeah, sidepods now have much smaller inlets. The ones on Williams seam to be 1/2 smaller.

Sorry, the williams inlets are half as big as what? - they haven't launched a new car yet. Have they changed the inlet since they started testing the Cosworth V8?
What if there were no rhetorical questions?

They've modified aerodynamics for V8 engine and sidepods look completely different than ones on 2005 car. Inlets are much smaller since radiators are smaller. It could be said that the car they tested at Jerez late last year had mid-to-rear more-less equal to what we'll see on full 2006 car.

The only problem is that the tested sidepods of the Williams are the same as they've already raced. They haven't changed at all for these tests.

My mistake... it seams that I haven't been paying attention on zillion aero updates Williams had in 2005. It must be the dark blue color that made me get impression that sidepods are smaller.

Perhaps they are only more undercut on these testing pics.

The dark Blue colour does look nice, however I am not sure about the sexiness of it! Imagine having sexy F1 cars, infact you would not call the 2008 cars sexy at all, they are ugly.

I remember watching a race last year on Speed T.V (United States), I think it was the Turkey Grand prix, and the commenators were commenting about how the BMW Williams had a very small air inlet at the top compared to other grand prix cars? It did look like they had smaller air inlet compared to other teams.

Simon: Nils? You can close in now. Nils?

Simon: [on the phone] John... in the back of the truck you're driving, there's $13 billon dollars worth in gold bullion. I wonder would a deal be out of the question?
John McClane: [on the phone] Yeah, I got a deal for you. Come out from that rock you're hiding under, and I'll drive this truck up your ass.

Well, last year's BMW engine sucked. Race Tech mag was wondering why the airbox was so different or small even during the 2005 season.

Im still a rookie with all stuff relating to Formula one

Im thinking....
Maybe they wanted to create less drag from the opening and thus make it smaller. (Do they cause drag alot of drag)?

Make it smaller so that the air underneath the opening gives a positive effect to the wing at the back?
