what happens if you ignore drifting in a rally cornering?

Post

hi everybody.
I have a question to use it in a scientific peace of work:
what really happens if a rally driver decides to enter a turn not drifting?
in other words: suppose a rally driver drifts a turn at 80mph. what happens if it enters the same turn like a usual traffic driver and tries to track the road by just steering at the same speed?
dose he spin off the road?
does he rollover?
or he simply passes the maneuver?
does the road type (asphalt, dust ,etc) matter?
tnx.

He'll understeer off the road if he keeps the same speed. The road surface might play a hand in it, asphalt gives more grip then just dirt, but in both cases he'll be flying off the road. In order to make the corner without drifting he needs to slow down.
