1992 technical regulation questions

Post

Hi Everyone

I am looking for the technical regulations of 1992. If you know of a link please let me know...

If you know the basics then please help me on the following:
1. Was the max width of 2000mm for the wheels or the bodywork? (please specify both widths if you know them)
2. What was the maximum height of the Car?
3. What was the front wing width of 1992?
4. What was the wheel (front and rear) widths of 1992?
5. did they have a minimum ground clearance?

The reason for my asking is that I am interested in scratch building a Williams FW14B but information on measurements on the net is rather scarce so all help is welcomed!

Thanks in advance

If I remember correct, the dimensions were as follows

1) overall width 2150mm (2000 was from 1993, as rear wheel width was reduced from 18 inch to 15)
2) 1000mm
3) 1400mm
4) max. 18in
5) only for the frontwing, 40mm I think

According to http://www.f1technical.net/features/62, in 1992 the front wing was limited to a minimum of 25mm above the reference plane. This changed to 40mm in 1993.

It should be noted that just because the rules set 25mm as the minimum height, does mean the Williams design was that low, as the car pitching at low ride heights could cause the wing to stall. The active suspension would have help this however.

Regarding item 1. I am sure the max width was 2000mm for 1992. Only the rear tire width changed, the consequence being an extra space between the rear wing enplates and the inside tyre wall. I could be wrong, but

hmmmm. It seems my memory is failing. Not that that hasn't happened before. Seems 2150 is right. wow.
