development of chasis

Post

hey, i was just watching the latest v8 race and they said that they develop the chassis of the cars. My question is , if the chassis is based on a production car, what can they do? I know roll cage setup and maybe strenghening of the chassis will add performance but what else can be done?

Here are the rules.

Rule 10.1.2 specifies that all suspension points must be same as specified (stock?)
These beasts appear to be totally production based, but with a lot of changes available.Maybe someone from down under could explain a bit more?

thanks ..but im actually looking more in general, what can be done to the chassis of the car in a production class racing series. i know absorbers, springs, engine modification, making the car lighter as wel as various designs of roll cage does contribute to improving the performance for the car. but what can be done specifically to the chassis that will help the cars performance
