So I was lucky enough to go to the Lotus Festival recently held at Brands Hatch with my family. My Dad owns an S4S so got to present the car with the many other Lotii there on the day. Thought I'd share a few pics of the racing cars that were there, will also post a video of the F1 cars that were going around later on once I've got it uploaded.
Yes, there are hardly any Lotus cars here, I hardly took any pictures walking around all of them for some reason, but oh well.
Sometimes the cars in the parking lot are nicer than the ones on show...
One of the old Lotus F1 cars doing the rounds, this thing sounded like a bucket of nails. Was running a Lamborghini V12 I believe.
This on the other hand sounded gorgeous.
As did this. He was also giving it the beans, power sliding round the corners like a pro.
After sliding off the track and taking a quick detour we ended up walking past him pushing the car back into the pits. I think this car is gorgeous.
Thankfully it wasn't just Lotus cars that were there, this Ford powered Benetton was also running around and sounding great too.
Couldn't tell what Formula this car was from, and old GP2 car? Anyone help me out with this one?
Yes please.
Comes with a full pit crew! I ended up chatting to the wife of the owner and driver, she said it was a money pit to run. They once got it transported to the Asia for some event, and as it was being loaded off the transport ship, got impaled by the fork lift truck causing £40,000 worth of damage to the carbon fibre floor of the car. Ridiculous.
For all you diffusor junkies out there.
This creates musical harmony.
Oh look, exhaust blown diffusors.
Seemingly tiny brakes, but then the car weighs bugger all so they don't need to be huge.
Some serious space under there.
For the discerning petrol head. A must have.
At the end of the day they let the cars onto the track to do a parade lap. A lot of them had gone home at this point so this was all that was left... The whole train of cars went almost the entire length of the indy track.
My dad's current pride and joy.
