3d printing a sports car?

Post

Okay this seems quite promising.

A new technology called '3d printing' can help us 'print' fully functional cars.

In fact, the Aston Martin in James Bond's Skyfall was 3d printed.

Seems like they already have special files out that can help you download. Like this Turbocharger.

If this is something affordable, I'm so printing out my own car parts at least.

Has anyone here experimented with this technology yet?

You may choose to believe the hype. The current problem with 3d printing is that the material properties are so much worse than the ones we like to use. I stand to be corrected, if you have actual lab tests.

That 3D printed Aston Martin was a 1:3 scale replica made of 18 parts which they blew up. Hardly a working car.
