Well, it looks like another Mercedes camp, at least if Bottas can find some race pace. I take for granted that Hamilton will be stellar here, he was fast in 2016 and this weekend he should become champion, so I guess he will give his best.

Ferrari was better on race pace last year rather than on qualy. Now they should be stronger in both aspects, hopefuly Vettel will deliver again on qualy and make the race entertaining for at least a few laps.

On the other hand, McLaren will have a hard weekend.

Really happy we’ve got another evening kick-off this weekend. Championship is not worth talking about anymore but I’d love Bottas to make a run for 2nd, possibly with some help from Lewis in the rounds after. Ric will have an engine penalty so we’ll see what Max and the Ferrari’s get up to behind

Anyway, its incredible how much RB improves from qualy to race so whow knows.

This track was dull with the older spec cars, the new ones make it a lot more enjoyable. 8-11 will be almost flat during the race, and flat during qualifying. Although it's very difficult to get right.

Despite Merc having a bigger advantage last year the Qualifying was very very close. Even Hulkenberg got close to the Mercs. This year will be very tight between the top 6 and I feel renault will be strong.

The high altitude means long straights don't have as pronounced an effect as they might elsewhere. It's pretty much a max downforce circuit in spite of the straights.

Even so, the Red Bull has been good at high speed circuits with multiple straights - Monza and Belgium being good examples. They pushed Ferrari hard at both this year.

Last year Red Bull were all over Vettel, and comfortably ahead of Raikkonen in Mexico. This year their engine is more competitive, the chassis is probably better too.

I'd go for Hamilton, Verstappen, Vettel, Ricciardo, Bottas, Raikkonen.

At last seasons race, it was thought by many that Ferrari would perform better than all others on this track, because the thinner air (due to the high altitudes) would suit their more efficient cooling package best. It turned out not to be so in the end.

Aside cooling, the high altitudes negatively affect fuel consumption, aero and power output, making this is a track that favours neither bird nor beast. The parameters for performance are quite varied here, so only a car with superior engineering to all others will come tops.
