Here you can see the current chicane, the old bus stop in faded grey, and my idea in faded red.

And what would the point of that be?

In my opinion the current one is fine, the other two are complete garbage and there should be no chicane in the first place.

Indeed... why? plus, this way pit entry could be quite tricky, with cars crossing each other on track to get to their respected apexes.....

I quite liked the old busstop before they changed it to the current layout. It was tight and a very typical corner.

In any case, the infrastructure has since been massively changed, with the new pit building, along with the pit entry basically being a bridge above a ramp where cars can drive in and out of the pit building.
On the left hand side of the current chicane, the ground is fairly raised, so there's no way they can easily install the old busstop again. I think that ship has sailed long ago.

I don't really understand your new layout. Is that because you liked the old busstop, and your aim to get it back is to have the mirrored layout?
I think your change would also require the start-finish line to be moved closer to Turn 1, as the grid would become too short for some championships.

The old busstop chicane was great, it did give character to the track., like it was part of the whole area. The current chicane appears much more as a 'man made' section, this chicane breaks up the track a lot(which is the point, though).

The new layout allows overtaking, and the corner itself allows multiple lines, which gives great battles in the corner itself, as well as in La Source. It also solves the issue with the pit entry, that was a problem with the old layout as well as there were pretty much two different ways you would run in the section. The current chicane solves this by not allowing a big pace difference, as well as the entry being off the racing line. If you'd apply the suggestion, the pit entry would need to be much further back on the track, where it would be off the racing line.

As Steven said above the infrastructure has changed, so can't be done. Would like the old one back for sentiment yes, but not for todays cars as the closing speed to the 100m braking board from Blanchamont is huge these days, its often 20mph more than in the 80s and 90s.

The only change or two id do is make the pit entry on the inside of the penultimate corner, around 200m before the apex of it, id also make it two lanes wide as i can see a car get stuck right in the exit mouth of the pit entry around the pit speed limiter line. I can also see this car catching fire, and the teams calling Bob Box Box and two or three cars (leaders ideally) having to sit behind and loose the race due to this. The pit entry needs to be 5.5m to an ideal 7m wide for me, i see this at some other tracks, as well.

The only real change to Spa id do is provide more spectator seating areas as i think the place could cope with 95,000 fans, and more spectator facilities as i hear you pay to go for a Kimi there. And reports i have heard, is that its not uncommon for trowels and travel shovels with bog roll to be standard issue at Spa. That seems to be a common issue with many of the older tracks, Monza has antiquated bog facilities, where if you get water to rinse your hands after your business, you are doing damn well in some areas. Hand sanitiser is a standard issue at Monza in your trackside bag I know.

Old bus stop, the ship has set sail and is gone.

Thank you for your replies. I had no conseption of wheter this was good or bad, I don't know enough to make a guess really.
It was just an idea, an I wanted to see what people who actually has some good F1-knowledge had to say.
:-)

Also it was fun to make the drawing... :-p

I also thought about keeping the longer start-finish straight, that could be done like this:

Technicly yes, but is was purpose built as a chicane for the circuit. They just called it a busstop for the government funds to pay for it.

Also because of this being a very hilly part of the area, any more chances will be very hard and expensive to realize. For example on the right of the pits entrance is an edge of 10 meter heigh difference.
