How about: when recommending a post (upvoting, giving a token, etc.) there is an option to specify what sort of currency is being given. I would suggest:
-technical value (as is; original intent)
-cool/beautiful/impressive
-humorous
This might make a user's reputation points more descriptive of their faculties.
