Lando and Jarv (https://www.instagram.com/itsjaaaarv/?hl=en) were prepping for the Indy Car Challenge on iRacing. The setup/debrief, even for a sim racing game, was a small but very interesting and informative look into how that interaction is between engineer and driver.
For those familiar with the "McLaren Unboxed videos"... Jarv made a couple appearances last year.
Personal note:
As a sim racer myself... I really just go through 2 or 3 stages:
- General practice / track familiarity (~20 minutes)
- Long run practice if doing a longer race that has multiple pit stops (~20 minutes) but these days LONG races are rare for me
- Quali practice (3 or 4 laps)
But of course the granularity into what they discuss is so much more in depth.
