BORC anyone?

Post

Anyone heard of this series? The British Off-Road Championship (BORC) appeared up here 2 years ago and we descided to watch the event last year. 3 crashes (on the same corner) later we realised we had stumbled upon an action goldmine. This year was slightly more modest, the first car had an off-road excursion but recovered to the track, minus a wheel and the second somersaulted feet from us!!!

Some pics here, I actually just missed the somersault when I ducked to avoid debris and stones a second too early and because I don't yet know the condition of the driver I will not post the pic of his written off car, here you go.

The last 2 revealed that I was standing far too close, I should have realised that when the Metro 8R4 (Land Rover chassis, Metro body, V8 ) actually made the ground shake!!!

Seriously though I was being silly looking for a good pic, most of these were taken from ditches, please don't get that close!

Some of you may remember me bringing this topic up in July, well I've just managed to get in touch with some of the competitors in the event and I've found out that not only were they all relatively unharmed after the various excursions (cuts and bruises) but also the Keith Gott Racing Team produced this video, although you really have to go to near the end to see the incident, and the famous corner mentioned in general chat, it shows what an enourmous crash we witnessed and also how strong these vehicles are. http://www.keithgottracing.co.uk/Galler ... ideo_.html
