Questions about fire extinguishers - 1972!

Post

Hello

I'm working on a detailed scale model of the Lotus (John Player Special) 72D of 1972 and wondered if anyone on this forum could throw some light on ancient and obscure F1 history: the wiring and 'plumbing' of the onboard fire extinguishers. At the time one was in the frame ahead of the foot box and one on the floor of the cockpit, under the driver's legs. They were push-button activated in the cockpit and there was an additional, external lever-controlled switch on the roll-over bar. One question is about the source of power to what were presumably solenoids to trigger the extinguishers. If by any chance there are pictures of the wiring/plumbing I'd be very grateful. I have searched the web without luck.

Thank you,

Mark
