There is one thing that I have been wondering about recently and that is how much downforce was really lost in 1983? From what I can see the laptimes from 1983 stayed relatively consistent with the laptimes from 1982. Is it all down to the advances in engine power? I thought the large increases in engine power didn't start happening until the 1984 season?
