I am really curious how they will do the BOP between LMH and LMDh teams. I mean, what is the point to invest in development of an LMH, if a bunch of LMDh cars will outperform your team with an standard chassis?
Well that's the risk no? Or just another opportunity to catch loopholes. For example. GTE class got huge problems with that how Ford and Ferrari sandbagged system in last few years. So yeah risk is there, but its part of new game. If that means more cars on grid and even slight chance of privateer winning it? i m willing to take it.
Ferrari will not build standard chassis, that was given. They are no cheapskates also. Also because F1 got cost cap now. I m almost 100% LMPH project is indirectly connected with that in mind. So maybe some experimental solutions could be tested first in LMP series.
-from new dynamics simulations and chassis modelling SW stacks
-experimental CFD algorithms, techniques, ideas
-experimental manufacturing techniques
-[insert] anything they cannot do in F1
Then provides
huge transition platform for young Ferrari engineers into top level of race car design.
-its quite MEGA opportunity for new students and apprenticeships in much less competitive environment
-also it could work as step down ladder from F1 pressure cooker to hone some new skillsets or pass those experiences to the others
In short Scuderia will poach best ideas, people and successful techniques as much they can from it.
Its free estate really.
