Sensory formula 1 car - Augmented nervous system

Post

This is a progressive invention. It will be continually updated as the years go by.

A formula 1 car has hundreds of sensors that indirectly inform the driver if what's happening. Data is processed and then there is a fractional delay then this information is displayed on some sort of menu.

Most formula 1 drive have five senses... Sight, touch, smell, hearing and taste. Some sensive are used more extensively than others. These natural senses are utilized while driving but I believe they are not truly maximised.

The driver can see the track, hear the engine and feel g-forces through his body.. But only what stimuli directly reaches him. There is no nervous network connecting his senses to the extents of the car. He cannot feel the loading on the front wing for example or feel the strain on the differential.

If the driver can sense these things then he can truly be one with the car and perform to the limit.

This is a proposal for a Formula 1 car augmented nervous system.

I will explain how to implement this in follkwing posts. But you can discuss in the meantime.

Having 20 cars on track that drive a 100% perfect race sounds sooooo dull.

Just like Overtaking Attempts > Completed Overtakes when it comes to thrilling races, the chance of a driver making a mistake in any part of a race greatly increases the thrill of the event.

For your idea, its just AI-RC-F1...

Why would it be Artificial Intelligence when it is still controlled by a human?

Think of this way... You are now giving a military sniper night vision goggles and a wind meter. More tools to sense the environment.

Not sure how the rules treat these areas, but I'm sure we are getting closer to HUD for an F1 car at the very least. Having sensors that can transmit data of eg. total loading on each of four corners in real time to the driver's body would be next step
And they call it a stall. A STALL!
