PMs staying in outbox

My PMs used to intermittently stay in outbox and not get delivered, now they always do. Any idea why?

They only stay there until they are read so you can see if someone read your PM. In the meantime they are also sent.

As soon as ANY recipient opens it, the PM moves from “outbox” to “sent”.

Up to that point, you can delete or edit the message. After that, it is frozen forever.
