F1 chassis controls

Post

Reading the history of the r26-03 chassis

http://www.f1technical.net/news/4406

i asked to myself: which controls are done to define if a chassis is still ok for race or if has lost his properties when was new due to fatigue effects, crash damages. etc. ?
When and where are done ? how ? which are the properties most watched dynamicals ones or statics ?
thanks

Probably a meticulous dimensional check is the first step, then the safest way to check the integrity is a series of dynamic tests. There is a vast field of literature covering the subject of failure diagnostics via dynamic behaviour anomalies, I guess these controls are routine in race to race damage assessment.

I'm wondering, do they have CAT scan machines large enough to fit an entire chassis/engine/f1 car component?
