Krishna, you could easliy find this information yourself with a couple of google searches.

There are a few opinions but genarally the idea is karting, Formula Ford, A1 Grand Prix, Formula 3, Grand Prix 2 (ex-Formula 3000) and finally Formula 1. Although there are a few series in between that drivers occasionally take, like Formula Vauxhall/Lotus and similar.

I didn't think of that, in between karting you can also climb the touring car support bill with Formula BMW and Formula Renault, and the Formula Nippon series is supposed to be on par with GP2.

FIA's site (championships) mentions the following, in strict "FIA order":

FIA Formula One World Championship
FIA World Rally Championship
FIA World Touring Car Championship
FIA GT Championship
CIK-FIA Karting World Championship

Then you have specialized series:

FIA Cross-Country Rally World Cup
FIA International Cup Cross-Country Bajas
FIA Alternative Energies Cup
FIA International Hill Climb Challenge

Not to forget the historic races:

FIA Historic Racing Championships
FIA Historic Rally Championship
FIA Historic Regularity Rallies
FIA Historic Hill Climb Championship

You have european versions of GT3, touring, truck, drag, autocross, rally and hill climb:

FIA GT3 European Championship
FIA European Touring Car Cup
FIA European Truck Racing Championship
FIA European Drag Racing Championship
FIA European Autocross Championship
FIA European Rallycross Championship
FIA European Rally Cups
FIA European Rally Championship
FIA European Hill Climb Championship
FIA European Hill Climb Cup

Finally, rally local cups:

FIA Middle East Rally Championship
FIA African Rally Championship
FIA Asia-Pacific Rally Championship

You can find the regulations there, at FIA's site.

I'd go for, if you're going to do it in single seaters:

FIA Formula 1
Champ Car, IRL, GP2, Formula Nippon
F3 (Euroseries and British), Renault world Series, A1 GP, Indy Lights, Toyota Atlantic
Formula Renault, Formula BMW
Formula Ford
Karting

To be honest there are endless championships, series' and leagues which are availible and could lead to F1, Formula Palmer Audi is a popular one which hasn't been mentioned yet.

@Ciro, although the FIA is world motorsport's governing body, they don't regulate many of the top leagues, rather just what they might see as the pinnacle of each dicipline.

FIA Formula One World Championship
FIA World Rally Championship
FIA World Touring Car Championship

- Top single seat, rally & touring car championships no question!

FIA GT Championship

- Not a patch on ALMS or LMS in terms of manufacturer support, race venues or field numbers (usually), but with the FIA's blessing gets the most coverage.

CIK-FIA Karting World Championship

- I don't know much about karting!

Personally I think Formula BMW seems to be a good route into F1 these, days, if you look at the drivers who have suceeded in it, many have been given prospects with BMW (or Williams pre'06).

Yes, I know Octavarium. Actually, my first idea for an answer was "Where is NASCAR?" ;).

I have argued against FIA "custom" of NOT offering a clear "ladder" for drivers and I dared to ask for an "ascent/descent" series... FIA is a federation and that, perhaps, explains it. I was surprised to find, after posting that idea (and several more) in a couple of forums, that Mosley was suggesting the same. Sinchronicity.
