They've cancelled the rally and it looks like the guys who did the hit and run have been arrested as they try to flee the country...There are links on the site that show the wreckage of the accident
Simon: Nils? You can close in now. Nils?
John McClane: [on the guard's phone] Attention! Attention! Nils is dead! I repeat, Nils is dead, ----head. So's his pal, and those four guys from the East German All-Stars, your boys at the bank? They're gonna be a little late.
Simon: [on the phone] John... in the back of the truck you're driving, there's $13 billon dollars worth in gold bullion. I wonder would a deal be out of the question?
John McClane: [on the phone] Yeah, I got a deal for you. Come out from that rock you're hiding under, and I'll drive this truck up your ass.
..thats terrible..i saw Gumball 2005. pretty rash driving on normal roads these ppl were doing..i remember a Continental GT catching up with a GSX1000R at 185mph..and passing it in the most scariest way ive ever seen ..then their Nordschleife tour..had a couple of accidents there too, but not serious...although many ppl were fined for overspeeding on the highways.this rally is meant for fun, but not this.

My point exactly, cars with pretty serious punch added with not so talented drivers, will always end up in a mess

There doesn't need to be any 'talented' drivers at all if they stick to the speed limits!

2. They put their own life at risks
3. They PROMOTE reckless driving
4. They motivate the young drivers to drive recklessly
The trouble with the rat-race is that even if you win, you're still a rat.

Less important than the above, but still worth mentioning:
5. Destroy beautiful/rare cars in the process.
Of course, we don't know the circumstances of the accident......it may or may not have been down to idiotic driving. But, it's fair to say something like this has been coming for quite some time.
In the broader context it appears to me (and has done for years) that doing the Gumball is as much about saying we can break the rules because we can afford to pay the fines and/or have the cars impounded.
There is something very wrong and arrogant about that attitude..........
It really needs to be banned, if you want to see rare exotic cars driven fast (and in complete control) go watch a GT race, there's plenty about. If you want to see needless deaths and serious injury then you should be locked up

Its completely legal, its literally just a drive through Europe. The illegal part is the speeding and dangerous driving that's rife among gumballers.
